This is the belief, held by many of today's African leaders, that the 21st century will bring peace, prosperity and cultural revival to Africa. It is fitting then that the turn of the millennium was marked by the formation of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD).

Nepad Business Foundation: Engaging the private sector

Sustainable development is not possible without a vibrant private sector. As NEPAD is about creating conditions conducive to private sector investment in African countries, the challenge for the private sector is to identify unfolding opportunities in the African region, and to take a medium to long-term view of pursuing such opportunities.
